Come one and come all to the Fierce Chicks Rock BIG PIMPIN' YARD SALE on Saturday, April 23rd.


The yard sale will be at 329 E. 31st Street from 8:00AM to 1:00PM. Check out clothing, CDs, furniture, books, and anything the mind can think of.

"More Fundraising Tips!" & UPDATED WEEKEND RIDE SCHEDULE

Hey Riders!

You should have received the latest News Bites, Ride Edition on Wednesday, April 13th, 2011.

First things first - Tomorrow's training ride with David Andrews in Washington, DC has been CANCELLED due to inclement weather. However, the Ride is only a few weeks away and you should try to shoot for a 50-miler training ride this weekend to ensure you are on track to ride 100 miles on May 14th.

Team Atomic will be holding two 50-mile training rides this Sunday - one on the Eastern Shore, and one in Baltimore. See below for details, and don't forget to check the outdoor training ride schedule for complete information.

Crab Route -- Eastern Shore
Team Atomic teammates Misty and Taj are coordinating driving from Hampden to @ 8:30 on Sunday to go to the Eastern Shore and doing a 50ish mile ride there. The start point is N. Cross Street and Maple Avenue in Rock Hall. Driving directions: take 50 South across bridge to 301, take Centerville /RT 213 (North or East) Bears Left @ Churchill stay on 213 cross water turns into Maple. Tour Du Port 2010 50 Mile Route

If you want to ride closer to home, a few of us are planning to do one of the Tour Du Ports routes Sunday. We're planning to do the 2010 50 mile route. We'll meet at the corner of Boston and South Clinton Streets at 9AM! Also, Alfredo wants to ride to the start point from his house off Keswick. 50 Miler Training Ride this Weekend

Meet Time and Location: 9:00AM at David Andrews's home.

• 4308 Yuma Street, NW, Washington, DC.
• There is plenty of safe, on-street parking. 
• Ride out at 9:30AM.

 Details: The 50 mile ride will begin by heading down Rock Creek passing the National Zoo and Georgetown to cross the Potomac and follow the Mt. Vernon trail along the river, through Alexandria, and down to the Virginia countryside to historic Mount Vernon. Then head back, having lunch in either in Alexandria or crossing back to DC into Georgetown. This is one of the most beautiful training rides we have to offer, especially given it is Cherry Blossom season. You will ride mainly on paved paths but there is some road riding and some rolling hills. 

What you will need: A bike, helmet, and water bottle. Wear clothing appropriate for the temperature.

Cancellation: David is a fair-weather rider, likely only to do the ride if there's no rain. Current forecast for Saturday is rainy and cool, so make sure to contact David to confirm he is leading the ride.

Bmore Fixed Movie Premiere & Auction

Like the blog Bmore Fixed? This Friday, join Rider Maggie Sabo and Team Atomic at the Windup Space (12 W. North Ave.) for the premiere of two fixed bike movies at 7:00PM:

Tokyo to Osaka: A group of Americans fly to Japan and ride their bikes from Tokyo to Osaka over the course of a week, covering 50 to 100 miles a day. Follow them as they explore the cities and countryside, meet new people and deal with the trials and joys of their once in a lifetime journey.

Line of Sight: Explore filmmaker/cyclist Lucas Brunelle's methods of filming the fastest alleycats in the world. His unique helmet cam setups and fearless riding technique allow viewers to see what it's like to keep up with the fastest guys on the street.

This double-feature movie night is free, but Maggie will also be auctioning off various bike-related items to raise money for Ride for the Feast. 

Royal Bike Sprints will take place following the movies at 10:00PM (entry: $5).
